## To Save Configuration 1. Click on the Gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen as seen below 2. Click **Save to Startup Configuration**​ This saves your configuration, so that if the switch reboots, it loads the configuration you just saved. --- ## To Backup Configuration 1. On the left menu, click **Switch Management** then **File Update and Backup** 2. Click on **Edit** next to **Backup Files** 3. Under **File Type And Protocol** click **Startup Configuration** and **HTTP**. 4. When you click **OK** the configuration will be saved locally on your computer for future use. > [!Note] > You should always backup configuration before making changes so you can revert if needed. --- ## To Apply a Backup Configuration to a switch 1. On the left menu, click **Switch Management** then **File Update and Backup** 2. Click on **Edit** next to **Update Firmware / Configuration** 3. Under **File Type and Protocol** make sure **Configuration Download** is selected, and **HTTP** 4. Click **Choose File** and browse to the location of your backup configuration 5. Click **Startup Configuration** and click **OK** The switch will download the backup configuration, and will reboot once you acknowledge the successful download.
