## To Save Configuration
1. Click on the Gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen as seen below
2. Click **Save to Startup Configuration**
This saves your configuration, so that if the switch reboots, it loads the configuration you just saved.

## To Backup Configuration
1. On the left menu, click **Switch Management** then **File Update and Backup**
2. Click on **Edit** next to **Backup Files**
3. Under **File Type And Protocol** click **Startup Configuration** and **HTTP**.
4. When you click **OK** the configuration will be saved locally on your computer for future use.

> You should always backup configuration before making changes so you can revert if needed.

## To Apply a Backup Configuration to a switch
1. On the left menu, click **Switch Management** then **File Update and Backup**
2. Click on **Edit** next to **Update Firmware / Configuration**
3. Under **File Type and Protocol** make sure **Configuration Download** is selected, and **HTTP**
4. Click **Choose File** and browse to the location of your backup configuration
5. Click **Startup Configuration** and click **OK**
The switch will download the backup configuration, and will reboot once you acknowledge the successful download. After the switch is done rebooting, it will have its backup configuration running in the switch.
