Follow the steps below to update the ScreenConnect server.
# 1. Check the version of ScreenConnect
Sign into the ScreenConnect administration page ([scr.macatawatech.com/administration](https://scr.macatawatech.com/Administration)) and compare "Your Version" to "Latest Version"
# 2. Download the latest version of ScreenConnect
Visit the download link [screenconnect.com/download](https://www.screenconnect.com/download) and download the latest version of ScreenConnect.
# 3. Create a backup of the ScreenConnect server
Make a copy of the ScreenConnect directory at `C:\Program Files (x86)\ScreenConnect`. Store this backup in a safe place.
> **Note:** You might need to stop these services before completing your backup:
- ScreenConnect Relay
- ScreenConnect Session Manager
- ScreenConnect Web Server
# 4. Install the latest version of ScreenConnect
1. Set the ScreenConnect server (MT-APP02) to ThreatLocker installation mode linked to "ScreenConnect Server".
2. Run the downloaded package.
3. Agents will slowly upgrade to the latest version.
# Optional: Update ScreenConnect Agents
While agents will slowly upgrade to the latest version you can manually update ScreenConnect agents.
## Reinstall through ScreenConnect
Through ScreenConnect, select your machines, right-click, and select **Reinstall**.
## Redeploy through ConnectWise Automate
You can instead use the Redeploy command within ConnectWise Automate. Navigate to the Browse screen and scroll to the bottom of the list; this ensures that ConnectWise Automate sees all computers. Press Ctrl+A to select all machines in the list, then right click and select **Control** > **Redeploy**.
