You've been invited to my personal Plex server, a private collection of movies, TV shows, and more, hosted on my server just for friends and family. Here's everything you need to get started. ## What is Plex? Plex is a media server platform that lets you stream video from a central library to any device. Think of it like a personal Netflix, the server stores the files, and you use the Plex app on your phone, TV, laptop, or browser to watch them. You'll need a free Plex account to get started. ## Can I get in trouble for watching? **Almost certainly not**. Copyright law targets distribution and hosting, not passive viewers. There is no meaningful legal precedent in the US for a viewer being pursued for simply watching streamed content on a private server. You're not downloading, uploading, or sharing anything. ## Why is it not working? Check my [status page here](https://status.flwr.day) to see if any of the services used to operate Plex are down. If the status page doesn't load, my internet is likely down... | Service | Status | | ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------ | | Plex Movies (Ionia) | ![](https://status.flwr.day/api/badge/20/status) | | Plex TV (Hollister) | ![](https://status.flwr.day/api/badge/6/status) | ## Can I make requests? This is *coming soon*. In the meantime, just reach out to me with any requests. ## Tips for the best experience ### Set default language ### Check Audio & subtitle settings If something sounds off or subtitles are missing, tap the speech bubble icon during playback. You can switch audio tracks and subtitle languages per-title. ### Use "Direct Play" when possible. If your device supports the video format natively, Plex will stream it without transcoding, this is faster and higher quality. Avoid forcing quality changes unless needed.
